Abstract

Congenital anomaly known as imperforate hymen is rare gynecologic entity.
Usually the hymen assumes its normal perforate form in the latter months of embryonic life or shortly after, birth. but the persistence of epithelial cells which ordinarily degenerate by the time of fetal maturity results the imperforate hymen.
In most instances, definite finding is noticed after menarche as retention signs of menstrual flow.
One case of imperforate hymen was experienced, which was treated satisfactorily by simple crucial incision on the budging hymen. We present this case with reviewing the literature concerning Imperforate hymen.
